CJ 590 - Terrorism The course focuses on the causes and evolution of the terrorist response in the support of social causes. Primary concerns of the course include but are not limited to the trap of “tribal” reactions to social issues, the demoralization of the adversary, historical development of the terrorist response, terrorism in the current social environment and the response to the terrorist challenge. In addition to work required of undergraduates in CJ 270 , graduate students will complete 4 literature reviews instead of the 2 required for undergraduates. Graduate students complete a major research paper which combines theory and professional practice, as the final project for CJ 590. Graduate students may also be asked to make a significant oral presentation on a terrorism topic assigned by the professor to the undergraduates in the class at the discretion of the instructor.
Credit(s): 4 Prerequisite(s): Graduate standing required
