SPSC 278 - Essentials of Clinical Conditions and Medical Terminology This course is designed to provide students a strong foundation of several key conditions and diseases present among the patients and clients of today’s health and fitness professionals. A considerable emphasis will be placed on the pathophysiology of each condition, clinical implications for treatment, quality of life, and end of life planning. Students should be prepared to take a comprehensive exam on medical terminology early on in the course with continued use and assessment of terms and abbreviations throughout the course.
Credit(s): 4 Prerequisite(s): SPSC majors should take SPSC 107 , SPSC 120 & BIOL 104 or BIOL 111 ; Non-majors take BIOL 104 or BIOL 111 General Education Designations: Collaborative Leadership Offered: every fall and spring.
