HIST 276 - History of China An introduction to Chinese history and culture, with emphasis on the period from 1600-present. Topics covered include major religious and philosophical traditions, imperial dynasties, “opening” to the West, early 20th century political conflicts, civil war, Communist rule, and China’s place in the 21st century global economy.
