EXPL 231 - Experiential Learning in Undergraduate Research At Simpson College, research, scholarship and creative work provides an opportunity for individual students or small groups of students to explore an issue of interest to them in a manner consistent with the discipline and to communicate their results to others. Projects may involve inquiry, design, creation, investigation, research, analysis, discovery, application, writing and/or performance. In this Experiential Learning (EL) experience, students will participate in workshops, discussions or activities at the beginning of the research experience designed to help the students build their research skills such as defining a shared goal, delegating work tasks, develop a research strategy, resolving conflict, acting ethically, and improving written and oral communication skills within the team. Completion of this EL experience is not required for participation in undergraduate research.
