EDUC 236 - Language and Communication


This course introduces linguistic foundations of language and communication as they apply to the learning process.  Students will gain knowledge about language development and acquisition, and the variations related to culture and linguistic diversity.  Emphasis is on a thorough, research-based understanding of phonology, morphology, semantics, syntax and pragmatics.  Students learn ways to use the information to strengthen reading and language arts instruction.
