SOC 210 - Statistics for the Social Sciences This course covers basic concepts of descriptive and inferential statistics. The topics include graphical displays of data, measures of central tendency and variability, normal and skewed distributions, sampling distributions, confidence intervals, hypothsis testing, analysis of variance, correlations, and sampling distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, analysis of variance, correlations , and linear regression anolysis. Students will learn how to use statistical software such as SPSS in anlyzing and displaying the recent data in the field and will be able to interpret and evaluate research findings related to sociology and crinal justice.
Credit(s): 4 Prerequisite(s): SOC 101 CJ 101 or HSV 101 General Education Designations: Quantitative Reasoning, Data Analysis Offered: every semester.
